The Teaser Trailer For The ‘Dumbo’ Live-Action Remake Is Here & My Inner Child Is Beyond Excited

Everyone’s favorite large-eared elephant is coming to the big screen in a live-action adaptation of the original Dumbo that we all grew up watching. Disney just released the first teaser trailer and it’s everything we could have dreamed of.

Although only loosely inspired by the original 1941 film, it will still share the same heartwarming story of acceptance and love, no matter how different you may be. But if you’ve seen the film, you also know that it’s not all happy, and the new version won’t shy away from that. Dumbo still faces ridicule, and the story will now be centered around a man (played by Colin Farrell) who comes back from war to raise his kids after his wife’s death. Cue the tears.

“It was always one of my favorite Disney stories and one I had fond memories of,” the film’s director, Tim Burton, told People about feeling connected to the story and his decision to remake the film. “It’s a very sweet story, and also very simple and primal—I think that’s why people like it so much. It’s about an outsider, someone who is misperceived, and I’ve always been drawn to stories like that.”

With Burton at the helm, and an all-star cast including Danny DeVito, Colin Farrell and Michael Keaton, the film is bound to be amazing. Farrell told PEOPLE that “Walking on set was jaw dropping” and “Tim’s vision for this world and his honoring of not only the purity, but the true strength and resilience of children was like nothing I have been a part of in film before.”

We cannot wait! And we’re not the only ones who are excited…

Even though the movie doesn’t come out until March 2019, we’ll be anxiously waiting with our popcorn and circus peanuts ready.
