This New Website Calls Out Movies & TV Shows That Are Tied to Sexual Predators

Hollywood has definitely seen better days. With one sexual assault allegation after the other, it is becoming clearer that when people hold positions of power, there is a good chance they will take advantage of it and the people around them.

As powerful men like Harvey Weinstein, Dustin Hoffman and Kevin Spacey have been outed as sexual predators recently, the number of people in the industry who have started to speak up about their own experiences has increased. With movements like #MeToo, we are realizing that too many people have been affected by sexual assault and harassment, and an outrageous number of people have been the perpetrators. Yes, even some of your all-time favorite actors are involved.

The world is finally starting to notice and take some much-needed action. TV shows have been canceled, actors have been fired and we are working towards women and men being able to feel safe in the media business — and this website called Rotten Apples could not have come at a better time.

Rotten Apples is a new website that provides a search engine that can be used to find out if the movies and TV shows you are watching had sexual predators involved in directing, producing or acting in them. The website is all about giving audiences the chance to make a fair and ethical choice before they watch a program by allowing them to search shows and find out whether they were made by “rotten” or “fresh” apples. They’ve researched everyone from actors, to directors, to producers and crews.

However, Rotten Apples states that, “This database is not perfect, nor are the results meant to be taken as fact.” There is a place to let the creators know if they have made an error or if there is a person they need to add to their list. The site also only accepts accusations reported on by reputable sources to show that they are being thorough in their research.

I would definitely recommend checking out this website because you never know who could have been involved in an instance of sexual misconduct. Once you find out if they are rotten or fresh apples, It is your choice as to whether to support them or not.
