Mr. Feeny Is Still Our Hero: ‘Boy Meets World’ Actor Stopped An Attempted Home Invasion

On Boy Meets World, Mr. Feeny could do no wrong. He always knew just what to say to help Cory, Shawn, Topanga, and the others through the rough years of adolescence. It turns out that William Daniels, who played Mr. Feeny on the 1990s TV series that aired for seven years, is still prepared for all of life’s obstacles.

The 91-year-old actor stopped an intruder from breaking into the San Fernando Valley, California home he shares with wife Bonnie Bartlett.

Daniels, who also provided the voice for KIT the talking car on NBC’s 1980s series Knight Rider, was asleep when the intruder entered his home. “Luckily, Mr. Daniels was able to frighten away the person and the LAPD quickly responded,” his publicist told ABC7.

The former Mr. Feeny gave Good Morning America the light-hearted take we needed to hear from him. “…I beat him up and he ran away with bruises all over him. Would you like to print that? You better not, it’s a total lie.” He continued in a serious manner: “We were asleep and I heard bang, bang, bang… Bonnie screamed and this person fled.”

Boy Meets World fans celebrated their hero’s latest triumph on social media, including one who knows Daniels better than the rest. Will Friedle, who played lead character Cory’s obnoxious older brother Eric Matthews, tweeted his support to Daniels and Bartlett. “Don’t ever mess with Mr. Feeny!” he said.

Good to see that at least some of our childhood role models are still doing admirable things, but who are we kidding? Mr. Feeny couldn’t disappoint us if he tried.
