It’s been a few months shy of a year since 19-year-old Sofia Richie began dating Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-Scott Disick, who is 34. Age is just a number, though, right? Sofia’s father Lionel Richie thinks so, but in a different way.
When asked about his daughter and her relationship with Disick, he had quite the response. “She’s 19,” he said. “When you’re 19 you know everything. Is it going to be for life? I don’t know. But for right now it’s just a phase and I’m going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise.” What a dad-like reply, am I right?
Though his answer implies he doesn’t really like Scott, Lionel actually decided to stay neutral. “From what I met of him he’s a very nice guy,” he said. “When you hang around the reality world, who knows what you are really doing? This is a well-oiled machine, the Kardashian machine. I don’t really know what to think. I told Sofia I will have no opinion. I’ll continue to be my cheerful self and move on.” Hmm, that still sounds like he’s not so sure, doesn’t it?
I guess only time will tell when it comes to the progress Sofia and Scott’s relationship will make and how papa Richie will feel. Until then, I’ll be like her father, sitting in the corner with a nice drink and staying quiet.
