Ever since the internet exploded after Demi Lovato was spotted holding hands with DJ-producer Lauren Abedini in Disneyland, she’s chosen to keep her sexuality private. Lovato noted at the time that she wanted “to keep [her] personal life as private as possible when it comes to dating and sexuality and all that stuff just because it has nothing to do with [her] music.”
Since then, she surprised Lovatics when she announced she would be open to dating a woman in her full-length YouTube documentary, Simply Complicated. Now, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer is opening up to InStyle even further about her sexuality. “I’m very fluid, and I think love is love,” Lovato explained. “You can find it in any gender. I like the freedom of being able to flirt with whoever [sic] I want.”
She went on to further explain in the interview that she is embracing her independence, even attempting online dating, looking for someone who can make her laugh and “treat me like a queen.” “I’m normally the first one to make the move. I’m always the one who says, ‘Let me get your number.’ Or I slide into their DMs on Instagram,” she shared.
Her strategy with “sliding into their DMs” may explain her recent Instagram activity with Superman actor, Henry Cavill.

The former Disney star also said she is perfectly happy being single: “I’m not suffering because I’m alone. There were many years I was in a relationship and I wasn’t learning about myself. Now I’m learning about what I like, what I need, and what I want.”
