5 Reasons Wells Was Too Good for ‘The Bachelorette’

Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette was by far one of the most exciting episodes to date. With Alex being a total jerk, James T. whining that he isn’t good enough, and two people leaving without a rose, it was definitely one for the books. But throughout all that excitement, one of the most surprising parts was Wells getting sent home on his one-on-one date with JoJo. From the very start, he was absolutely adorable and an all-around favorite. Surely we weren’t the only ones who thought he might win JoJo’s heart. But now, we can’t help but think maybe he was just too good to be on this show in the first place. Here are five reasons why:

1. He is honest

One of the major themes of this season so far has been two-faced people. Whether it’s lying about your past or threatening people on the show, everyone is kind of a jerk. But not Wells. When he got the date card, he just openly told the guys that he hadn’t kissed JoJo yet. He wasn’t embarrassed or shy; he was just honest. Now that is a quality that we respect.

2. He doesn’t pretend to be stronger than he is

Let’s throw it back to the firefighter episode. Wells didn’t pretend he was in the best shape in the world; he just tried his best. He was determined and that showed. Especially when he had to take a break and owned up to it.

3. His last relationship ended because they were best friends

When JoJo asked Wells about his ex, everyone was sort of ready to hear a sob story about how she dumped him or something like that, but that wasn’t what we got at all. He told JoJo that his previous relationship lasted about four years and that it ended because they realized they were just best friends. He didn’t say a single bad thing about his ex or the relationship, which shows a lot of amazing character.

4. He finds homes for dogs

Okay, this didn’t exactly happen on the show, but if you stalk his Instagram, you will find that Wells often volunteers with the Nashville Humane Association in order to find dogs loving homes. Like, come on. He’s perfect.

5. He wanted to take his time in the relationship

One of the best moments of Wells’s time on the show was him waiting for the right moment to kiss JoJo. He didn’t want it to be rushed or faked; he wanted it to be real. He wanted to leave this show with a soon-to-be wife, and that’s not a relationship you can speed through. He knew what he wanted, and he wasn’t going to compare himself to the other guys in order to rush the process.

That is what we call a real man.
