A Woman Recorded Her Own Murder On Her Phone, And it Can Be Used in Court

A Pennsylvania woman who was murdered by her boyfriend on May 2 recorded the whole thing on her smartphone, Cosmopolitan reports.

When Wesley Webb, 40, got into a heated argument with her boyfriend Keith Smith, 43, she made the smart decision to start recording the dispute. According to the Times of Chester County, Smith swore at his girlfriend repeatedly in the recording before shooting her. He then attempted to shoot himself. While Smith was murdering his girlfriend, three children were also in the house—and they were the ones who called 911. Webb’s sister and brother-in-law are now fighting for custody of Webb’s two children, Cosmo reports, and have set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money for the kids.

Among Smith’s multiple charges are first degree murder and endangering the welfare of children. His unsuccessful suicide attempt landed him in the hospital, where he is now in stable condition. County District Attorney Tom Hogen put the essence of the despicable murder bluntly. “This was a savage, selfish, and cowardly murder,” he said in a statement. Under Pennsylvania law, the recording will be admissible in court.
