‘Time’ Magazine’s Latest Cover Honors the Women’s March in the Coolest Way

Time magazine just honored the Women’s March on Washington in the best way: by making its February 8th cover star none other than the iconic pink pussyhat.

The cover features nothing but a completely white background and the pink hat worn by millions of people who marched for the rights of women and other minorities in cities across the country last weekend. The headline reads, “The Resistance Rises: How a March Becomes a Movement.”

The accompanying cover story, called “Perhaps the Largest Protest in U.S. History Was Brought to You by Trump,” looks at the way the march, which was the largest political demonstration ever held in the U.S, has affected public consciousness. It also features a powerful photo gallery of marchers from across the country.

“There is no precedent in U.S. history for the show of collective outrage that answered Trump’s Inauguration,” Karl Vick, the cover story’s author, wrote. “But then, there is no precedent for Trump.”

The article also notes that much of the extreme success of the march comes from the fact that organizers framed it as not necessarily anti-Trump, but pro-female and minority  equality.

Twitter was full of support for the cover:

In case you needed any further reminders just how powerful the resistance has already been and will continue to be, this is it – and 2017 has only just begun.
