Some Navy Pilots Drew A Giant Penis In The Sky Because Middle School Never Ends

Some pilots have been admonished by the Navy for throwing it back to middle school and drawing a massive penis in the sky over Okanogan County, Washington on Wednesday, as K5, a local NBC affiliate reported.

The phallic artwork quickly caught the attention of all those within eyeshot and it spread far and wide across social media in no time, like so many giggle-worthy doodles passed back and forth on the sly between seventh graders. Some, like the Navy, didn't see the humor, but most people found it hilarious because none of us have truly left middle school humor behind, if we're being honest.

Once the skywriting gained some social media notoriety, the Navy caught wind of it and issued a statement, condemning the drawing.

A Navy spokesperson, speaking with the local news outlet KREM 2, was quick to note the airborne dick pic was not part of any of their formal practice routines and therefore not sanctioned by the US Navy. "The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable," the statement said.

However, it turns out that the Navy can’t do much more than condemn the existence of potentially inappropriate skywriting. Responding to requests for comment, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also noted that suggestive skywriting, penis-shaped or otherwise, can’t be policed unless there is some kind of safety threat.

With that in mind, who knows? This may be the first of many dick doodles across the sky.
