Fix Young America Rallies for Stephen Colbert’s Support

In an effort to get comedian Stephen Colbert to join their cause to end youth unemployment, the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) will host a rally tomorrow at 2 p.m. at over 300 college campuses for their Fix Young America (#FYA) campaign.

“Mr. Colbert, you give the little guy a voice,” YEC Founder Scott Gerber said in the campaign’s March 30 YouTube video. “We hope you’ll join us and give America’s grads and college students the Colbert bump.”

Continuing the campaign that began last month, YEC will rally with one million college students in each of the 50 states in order to recruit The Colbert Report host. Two years ago, Colbert held his own “March to Keep Fear Alive” on the National Mall alongside John Stewart’s “Rally to Restore Sanity.”

“We need you, Stephen Colbert, America’s greatest hero, to help move this mission forward,” Gerber said. “We’re going to honor the master of all rallies with a national rally.”

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and MTV Act partnered with YEC to organize the rallies that’ll take place across the country tomorrow. From the University of Oklahoma to the College of William & Mary, there will be #FYA rallies at 50 campuses with Her Campus branches.

“The #FYA campaign recognizes the harsh reality for 2012 college graduates seeking new jobs in this bleak economy, post-graduation,” according to a YEC April 1 press release. “The rally will give college students the chance to present a unified voice for their generation and rebuild the American dream.”
