1 Killed In Tennessee State University Shooting

Police were searching for suspects Friday morning in a shooting that occurred on the campus of Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tenn. late last night, according to Yahoo! News. At least one person is known to be dead and two more are injured.

The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. on Thursday night and reports state that it stemmed from a fight over a dice game that quickly escalated into a physical fight. It’s also unclear as to whether anyone involved was a student at Tennessee State. The victim who was fatally shot has been identified as Cameron Selmon, a 19-year-old boy who was not enrolled at the school, according to the Tennessean. The other two victims were taken to a hospital with injuries that weren’t considered serious.

This event comes just about a week after another shooting at Tennessee State, where shots were fired at a house party injuring three people. These shootings both come amid a string of others at college campuses across the country. The most deadly shooting occurred at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, where nine people were killed.
