FINAL FITNESS FAREWELLS :(

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Hey fearless (super fit!!) females!  I’m so bummed to be writing my last blog post :( This has been such an amazing three weeks, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to take on this New Balance Fitness Challenge.  Before I say my final goodbyes, I wanted to do what I and any other collegiette for that matter would typically do before a “final.”  What is that, you ask?

REVIEW and REFLECT!  Think about it – when you really look back and think of the most important things you learned, you’re much more likely to give yourself a pat on the back for coming so far.  And the best part about this is that it applies to all areas of your life and not just fitness!  Keep reading for the 3 biggest and most important things I’ve learned throughout these last three weeks (and some cute pictures that have become my favorites all in my New Balance swag of course)

1.  Ease into your new fitness plan.  This was definitely Holly Perkins biggest tip for me!  When you’re not accustomed to working out so regularly, the most important thing is to not push yourself too hard and simply make fitness a part of your daily routine.  And guess what guys — it works!!  Like I did, re-evaluate yourself after your first two weeks to see if you’re ready to add another session into your schedule.

2.  Have people to hold you accountable.  Just knowing people are counting on you to work out is enough motivation to get your butt in gear!  This fitness challenge made it so I couldn’t even come up with an excuse to not work out because I knew my readers, family, friends, sorority, etc. were all reading my blog.  And you don’t have to take on a challenge like this – designate a gym buddy and you will be each other’s witness while you work on your fitness (HA!).

3.  Try NEW things, but realize your fave.  If you’ve been following my blog, you’ve probably noticed I do a ton of different things.  Sundays were typically the days I ventured outside to do something a little unconventional with my workouts (i.e. visiting Central Park, walking for Breast Cancer, etc).  Trust me ladies – doing different things with your workouts really helps to keep you motivated.  While I’m an advocate for switching it up, I’m definitely a firm believer of sticking to your regulars too.  For me, I learned that I really enjoy pilates so taking two classes a week isn’t really that much of a struggle.  I think the most important think I’ve learned throughout this process is having a BALANCED fitness plan, complete with new and exciting activities but still sticking to what you’ve tried and tested.

So hopefully you all took something from these last three weeks as well.  I would just like to give a few quick thanks to some people who have really helped me to get the best experience out of this New Balance Challenge:

-Her Campus:  This was such an incredible opportunity!  I want to say THANK YOU for allowing me to blog and get involved with such a great program.
-Holly Perkins:  I definitely NEEDED your tips and guidance.  I can honestly say your tips will stick with me through all the coming years of fitness.  By giving me some ground rules, I can solemnly swear I will continue my fitness routine!
-New Balance:  Uhmmm hello THANKS FOR THE SWAG!  Nothing motivates a girl to work out more than super cute fitness gear that looks and FEELS good.
-Family/Friends/Alpha Phi:  You guys are the best!  If it weren’t for your incessant voting, support, and love I definitely would’ve had a much tougher three weeks.  Besides, I know you all just love taking pictures of me anyways (hehe!).

Peace, love, and FOREVER FITNESS,
Andreya
