The seemingly long-brewing feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj came to a head at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons fashion week party in New York Friday night.
The order of events isn’t exactly clear, but videos posted to social media show Cardi lunging towards an unseen person who sources said was Nicki, while shouting “Let me tell you something.”

Another video shows Cardi throwing her shoe in the direction of the other rapper. Through the chaos, Cardi can also be heard yelling at Nicki for supposedly mentioning her and Offset’s daughter, Kulture. “Write some sh*t about my daughter again,” Cardi appears to yell.
When security eventually separated the two, Cardi emerged with a huge bump on her forehead, her dress torn, and without shoes. According to TMZ, the bump was the result of Nicki’s security elbowing Cardi in the face.

The fight apparently started when Nicki deliberately stepped on Cardi’s dress train, after Cardi approached her not to fight, but “to address the lies Nicki was spreading,” TMZ reported.
“The scene was f*cking crazy,” a source told PEOPLE. “It was entourage against entourage.
Another source, who spoke to Page Six, said wigs were pulled — and a giant fist full of hair was even left on the floor. “It was bad,” they added.
Shortly after the altercation, Cardi took to Instagram with a screenshot of a note she wrote. Though she doesn’t mention Nicki by name, the post appears to be directed toward her.
“I’ve let a lot of sh*t slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f*ck up the way I eat! You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f*cking with them!!” Cardi wrote.
She continued, “I let you talk big sh*t about me!! I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!!”
Cardi then accused Nicki of attacking her parenting skills. “But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f*cking off!! I’ve worked to hard and come too far to let anybody f*ck with my success!!!! Bitches talk all that sh*t in they raps but in real life they p*ssies!! This sh*t really is for entertainment!!”
Nicki has yet to acknowledge the fight, instead posting photos and videos of her outfit from the event.
Despite being seen smiling together at the Met Gala earlier this year, the two have been subtly going back-and-forth since 2017, making jabs in their songs, social media posts, and interviews.
The New York Police Department is reportedly investigating the incident.
