The Women of ‘SNL’ Dish on their Favorite Characters to Play

The women of SNL have played some of the funniest characters on TV. It doesn’t get much better than Molly Shannon’s Mary Catherine Gallagh, the ladies of Bronx Beat Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler, and Ana Gasteyer as the middle school teacher with alongside Will Ferrell. Just like the fans of the show, the women of SNL have their favorite characters, too. Glamour Magazine interviewed some of our favorite ladies from the SNL cast, both past and present, and asked them which characters they enjoyed playing the most. Of course Rachel Dratch’s favorite character is the hilarious Debbie Downer, but we’re surprised to find out that Amy Poehler especially loved playing men because “the clothes were more comfortable.”

You can catch all these funny women on the SNL 40 live special airing Sunday night from 8 to 11 p.m. on NBC. Check out the rest of the cast’s answers below!
