Excuse while we count down the days ’til we’re finally reunited with Piper and the Litchfield gang in the next season of Orange is the New Black. On Monday, Netflix released the trailer for the newest season of the acclaimed series set to return on June 12. The clip brings us back to Litchfield Penitentiary where Piper is still serving a 15-month sentence for smuggling drug money for her ex-girlfriend, Alex. Alex was paroled in season 2 after staging a plea deal with prosecutors but, thanks to Piper, has found herself back in prison in this upcoming season.
Of course, we can expect everything from the good times to the bad… all with a healthy dose of the feels. The clip includes a few glimpses into the past as we revisit the stories of some of our favorite inmates while also looking ahead at what’s up next for these ladies.
One of the most notable moments of the trailer has to be when Piper is explaining prison life to her fellow inmates Morello, Yoga Jones, and Big Boo.
“People think all we do is have lesbian sex and strip searches and naked cat fights in the shower,” she says. “We also do other things.”
