The ‘This Is Us’ Cast Just Debunked These Popular Fan Theories About Jack’s Death

During the This Is Us season finale, Jack Pearson, played by Milo Ventimiglia, didn’t died, which left fans who were expecting his death with so many questions. While looking back on Season 1 at PaleyFest on Saturday, the cast and producers set the record straight about some major theories that have been floating around the internet.

Before answering any questions, Chris Sullivan, aka Toby, jokingly told the audience, “It happens how you think it is going to.” According to Cosmpolitan‘s report, Jack was definitely not murdered. BFF Miguel doesn’t kill him, and producers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra immediately shot down the theory that Kate is literally responsible for his death.

One fan theory that might not be entirely false? Since we’ve been given hints about Kate’s fear of flying and Kevin throwing away his model airplanes after his dad’s death and the theory wasn’t debunked during the panel, the whole “Jack dying in a plane crash” thing might be true after all. Just don’t expect him to be involved in the 9/11 attacks. (Yes, that was an actual theory at one point.) Sterling K. Brown, Randall’s portrayer, told the PaleyFest crowd, “He’s in Pittsburgh!”

Guess we’re going to have to wait a while to get a definitive answer. Ugh.
