Two New Harry Potter Books About the World of Magic Are Coming out This Fall

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s impossible for the world of Harry Potter to ever die out. J.K. Rowling will basically add on to the Wizarding World until the day she dies, right? The latest proof of my theory comes in the form of books. Us Weekly reports that Bloomsbury Publishing will release two new Potter-related books this fall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Coming out on Oct. 20, Harry Potter: A History of Magic—The Book of the Exhibition and Harry Potter—A Journey Through a History of Magic introduce a partnership with the British Library. The library will open a Harry Potter exhibition, “A History of Magic,”  that includes ancient manuscripts exploring the world of magic and some of Rowling’s original notes from writing the series. Fans can visit the exhibit until its closing in Feb. 2018.

A History of Magic—The Book of the Exhibition covers all of the subjects studied by Rowling’s characters at school. According to Bloomsbury’s website, the book will include essays discussing each subject area and delve into both Rowling’s fictional aspects of magic and “their cultural and historical forebears.” On the other hand, A Journey Through a History of Magic will have some truth to it, explaining how to make your own potion and teaching about actual astronomers and alchemists.

These books may not be the full Potter novels I wish were still being written, but any more insight into Rowling’s magical world is happily welcomed by me.
