Selena Gomez has been noticeably quiet about the recent engagement between her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, but in a new interview, she did weigh in on another couple that’s preparing to tie the knot: Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande.
Well, “weigh in” might be generous. Selena clearly didn’t want to discuss the subject — probably because she knew it would lead in to questions about Justin — but the interview from Clevver persisted.
“What do you think Mavis would say to Ariana Grande now that she’s engaged?” the interviewer asked, referencing Selena’s character, Mavis, in the upcoming film Hotel Transylvania 3.
Selena laughed and turned to her co-star, Adam Sandberg before replying, “I don’t know what Mavis would say!”
The interviewer continued, “Selena would probably say ‘the heart wants what it wants.”
“I honestly don’t know what Mavis would say, but I would say that it’s amazing and beautiful,” Selena said, smiling.
And that was that.
Although Selena has yet to comment on Justin and Hailey’s engagement, she seems perfectly fine. According to Billboard, she was recently spotted on a yacht with friends.
