We’ve all seen Bruce Jenner’s name in the news a lot recently with magazines and tabloids poking fun at the former-athlete-turned-reality-star’s face. There have been many rumors circulating about Bruce’s desire to become a woman due to his long hair and multiple plastic surgeries. InTouch magazine took the rumor too far and photoshopped a picture of Bruce wearing makeup on its cover.
Actor Russell Brand decided to fire back in defense of Jenner, dedicating an episode of his web series The Trews to share his opinion about the lack of sensitivity to the transgender community. Brand explained, “What this does is it sanctions people being judgmental and cruel toward transgender folks. Because that’s the mainstream media, and the mainstream media is the established form of communication and judgment.”
Honestly, it’s time for the media to leave Bruce Jenner alone. It’s inspiring to see someone such as Russell Brand standing up for the transgender community and calling out the gossip media platforms for “encouraging a climate of bullying, and judgment, and cruelty.” Check out Russell’s full video below!
