‘Pitch Perfect 3’ Is Probably the Last Time You’ll See the Barden Bellas You Know & Love

Though Pitch Perfect 3 isn’t in theaters until December, we’ve all been anxiously waiting to see the film and get another taste of the Barden Bellas in all their glory. Along with the Instagram posts and behind-the-scenes looks we’ve received from the stars of the film, we just got scoop on the future of the Bellas from screenwriter Kay Cannon.

Oh, we didn’t see you there. Bella’s go back to basics. #pitchperfect3 @haileesteinfeld

The news isn’t what you’d expect, so prepare yourself. “I think that people will cry,” Cannon told E! News. “I think it’s the end of the Bellas as we know them. If there’s a Pitch Perfect 4, it will be a new crop.”

Say whaaat?! It can’t be! No more Rebel Wilson or Anna Kendrick? That’d just be criminal.

Grab your tissues because not only do we know Fat Amy will no longer be around to make us laugh after PP3, but the cast also knew it was coming. “I think they just know,” Cannon continued. “I had the feeling when I visited set, it was like they were full of tears and like, ‘How much longer can we be singing a capella?’” At least it seems like they were as upset as we are.

We still have Pitch Perfect 3 to enjoy before we have to actually let go of the hilarious a capella group, so no need for goodbyes just yet. If Pitch Perfect 4 does happen, though, it better be aca-awesome. Just saying.
