Yesterday was Ellen DeGeneres’ birthday, but she didn’t want to be the only one receiving gifts. On Friday’s show, she gave the talk show audience $1 million to split!
Those at the show weren’t just random attendees, though. DeGeneres explained that everyone there had spread kindness in one way or another, whether it was Lori Gaines, a teacher who donated her kidney to the mother of one of her students, or Kenya and John Hughes who drove 800 miles on their own dime to deliver supplies to Hurricane Harvey victims.
Before the big reveal, DeGeneres told the audience to look underneath their seats. There, they found boxes of Cheerios.
“What a coincidence all of you would get a box of Cheerios,” DeGeneres joked before telling the audience the real gift.
“Hold onto your Cheerios because all of you are splitting one million dollars!” DeGeneres said. “That’s a lot of money!”
Audience members, of course, began to freak out.
The gift was a result of DeGeneres’ partnership with Cheerios to achieve one million acts of goodwill.
TBH, I’m jealous — but these people definitely deserve it.
