Nicki Minaj Just Broke a Major Record & Shaded Taylor Swift in the Process

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Nicki Minaj revealed great news—and threw major shade at Taylor Swift in the process. Minaj, with 71 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 list, now has the second most appearances on the list for a female artist. She narrowly slid past Swift, who maintains a solid third place with 70 songs.

“Oh hey, Taylor,” she wrote in the caption. “Taylor & I were tied but thanks to u guys, #RunUp debuted on the Hot 100 this week so I was able to inch past her a bit. Did u know she’s a sag like ya girl? Her, Britney, Christina Aguilera… yup love them all.”

Hilarious. Better write that new album soon, Taylor.

Despite the drama, there’s still another woman who maintains the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100—albeit not for long. As of now, Aretha Franklin holds the record for 73 songs. But she knows a thing or two about throwing shade herself.
