More People Have Watched Taylor Swift Videos Than They Have Basically Anything Else

These days, it seems like people are more addicted to their phones than anything else. Between DVR and Netflix, who needs to watch live TV anyway? Perhaps one of the reasons we’re all glued to our phones (aside from group texts and Instagram) is YouTube. What begins as watching one video turns into 15, and before you know it, you’ve spent hours on the popular site. YouTube is also our main source for watching music videos from today’s biggest artists, including Taylor Swift. The award-winning singer’s videos have broken records on YouTube, but a new study found that people actually watch more TSwift videos than they do network television shows. Given the massive popularity of the cat-loving crooner, we’re not surprised that people watch more of her videos than any show on TV. Let’s be honest, you’ve probably watched the “Bad Blood” video more times than you’d like to admit.

In a study conducted by Nielsen, it was discovered that there are quite a few artists whose music vids have racked up more viewers than popular TV shows. Aside from Drake and Rihanna’s impressive numbers, Taylor’s videos have accumulated far over a billion viewers over the years. As of now, Taylor’s most-viewed music video is the one for “Style,” which has over 1.5 billion views in total. When the highly-anticipated video for “Bad Blood” was released last year, it received approximately 18 million views over the course of just one week. So there you have it—Taylor is dominating the world, and this Nielsen study further proved that. Keep on slaying, Tay.
