Earlier this week, Alexander Skarsgård confirmed he was returning for season two of Big Little Lies as Perry Wright.
However, audiences will be meeting a new member of the Wright family, too. Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress Meryl Streep is set to play Perry’s mother, Mary Louise Wright.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Streep’s character “is described as a woman who is concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perry’s death.” She apparently arrives in Monterey “searching for answers.”
On another note, is that the confirmation that he’s actually dead? After all, Skarsgård himself said he didn’t know.
That’s all we know about Streep’s character for now. But it’s freaking Meryl Streep — so you know she’s going to be great.
