Matt Lauer Is Apparently Still Sending Notes To ‘TODAY’ With Suggestions Even Though He’s Been Fired

Matt Lauer may have been fired from the "TODAY Show," but that doesn't seem to stop him from offering his unsolicited input to the show.

Page Six was told that Lauer, former co-host of the “TODAY Show,” has been sending feedback to producers of the show. Lauer was fired from the news show in November for sexual assault allegations following detailed complaints from some of his former colleagues. He allegedly gave a coworker a sex toy as a gift, and it was also reported that he had a “button under is desk that allowed him to lock his door from the inside without getting up.”

“Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching, and I’m committed to beginning that effort,” Lauer said. “It is now my fulltime job.”

But the Hampton estate and golf-playing “retiree” decided an email would be helpful. Lauer, as sources told the Daily Beast, sent a producer an email stating how he believed the choice in music to start a segment was wrong.

His notes haven’t been “warmly received,” Page Six reported.

And this isn’t the first time Lauer has left his silence of saving his 20-year marriage to Annette Roque. Hoda Kotb, another co-host of the “TODAY Show,” told E! News that Lauer was one of the first to congratulate her on her official take-over—even if her new salary is about a third less than Lauer’s was.
