It’s hard to imagine Blair Waldorf with anyone other than her Gossip Girl love, Chuck Bass. Similarly, it pains us to picture The O.C.‘s Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts not living happily ever after. Yes, we fantasize about IRL couple Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s fictional characters. As it turns out, so do they.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the pair reminisced about their TV days and admitted to sharing a laugh about their characters being together in the real world. “Once a year, randomly, on our Seth and Blair day,” Adam joked. “It’s good for a laugh.”
Meester added, “It doesn’t excite us, I think, because we’re just human beings…but it’s exciting to us that it’s exciting to you.”
Apparently the couple isn’t as obsessed with the character connection as we are, since they’ve confessed to not watching each other’s shows. Seth and Blair Day may not be an official thing, but fangirls everywhere will continue to hope it exists. Because admit it: TV teenagers falling in love IRL is still pretty cool.
