Early this morning, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call that led them to the apartment of 29-year-old Lee Thompson Young, who was found dead after had apparently committed suicide.
“It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning,” Lee’s manager Jonathan Baruch said in a statement. “Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed.”
According to TMZ, The Famous Jett Jackson and Friday Night Lights star was discovered with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Janet Tamaro, executive producer of Rizzoli & Isles, which Lee also starred in as Detective Barry Frost, said in a statement, “We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. He was truly a member of our family. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace.”
