Whatever their relationship status may be as of right now, one thing is clear: Jelena officially has Justin Bieber’s mom’s blessing.
At the Justice Speaks Holiday Benefit Luncheon in Los Angeles over the weekend, Pattie Mallette, a.k.a. Momma Bieber, spoke to People about the relationship between her son and Selena Gomez — which may or may not be back on. (But that’s a different story entirely.) Mallette seems to be just as in the dark about their relationship status as the rest of us, but regardless, she still had nothing but adorably sweet things to say about Justin’s on-again off-again girlfriend since 2010.
“I don’t know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn’t share a whole lot, but I love her,” Malette told People. “I support anything [he does], if he loves her I love her, and I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious. I can’t really speak on their relationship, that’s between them.”
Malette was the keynote speaker at the event, which raises money to help human and sex trafficking victims. Justin even came along to support his mom, later posting the sweetest Insta about how proud he is of her.
“Love you mom!! So proud of you and your heart for people.. you inspire me to be better..” he wrote. Aww.
No word on whether Justin himself offered up any info about what exactly is going on between he and Selena at the moment, but sources that spoke to People say Justin and Selena plan to keep things “more low key” this time around, so that could be why we’re still left wondering exactly what’s going on between them, despite multiple Jelena sightings over the past month.
