JonBenét Ramsey’s Family Lawyer May Be Suing CBS Over Its New Docuseries

CBS’s new docuseries, The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey, which investigates the mysterious death of six-year old JonBenét Ramsey, is under fire from the Ramsey family. The controversy stems from allegations that Ramsey’s older brother, Burke Ramsey. The family is a little more than angry about the accusations, and is claiming that they will take action against the network. Lin Wood, the Ramsey’s lawyer, says the family is ready to sue CBS.

In the show, the investigation seeks to solve the mystery of the beauty queen’s death. Investigators on the show claim that her brother was violent and say outright that they believe he is to blame for the then-6-year-old’s death. In addition, they believe that the family knew about it—and covered it up.

“I will be filing on behalf of Burke Ramsey,” Wood said to Reuters. “CBS’s false and unprofessional attacks on this young man are disgusting and revolting.” In the suit, they are claiming CBS is guilty of “lies, misrepresentations, distortions, and omissions.”

CBS isn’t backing down though, saying “it stands by the broadcast and will do so in court.”
