This news just made my day: Kristen Wiig has officially signed on to play the villain Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2! Fearless director Patty Jenkins announced the amazing news via Twitter this morning.

Entertainment Weekly says “the character of Cheetah is feline-esque with strength and speed to make her a worthy adversary against Wonder Woman.”
While Wiig is predominantly known for her comedic roles, she has taken on many serious roles as well in movies such as The Martian, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Welcome to Me and Hateship Loveship. It’ll be great to see her take on a darker, more sinister role. While some may see this as bizarre casting, the team behind Wonder Woman clearly saw something in her that made them say, “Yep, she can take on our girl.”
Wonder Woman 2 is slated for realease sometime next year.
