Fans have been calling on Disney to feature its main characters in same-sex relationships. Most recently, they’ve been pushing for Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Elsa in Frozen to follow such a plotline.
Idina Menzel, who played Elsa in the 2013 animated film, is on board with the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend movement—so Disney, let’s make this happen!
“I think it’s great,” Menzel told Entertainment Tonight at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards. “Disney’s just gotta contend with that. I’ll let them figure that out.”
With Menzel in support of this idea, it seems like it has the potential to become reality in the future—but only time will tell. If Disney does goes forward with this addition, it would certainly be a step forward in the right direction for them.
