Glee’s Creator Ryan Murphy Announces Sixth Season Will Be Its Last

It’s the beginning of the end, Glee fans.

The fifth season of Glee may have just premiered a few weeks ago, but already the show’s creator Ryan Murphy has announced that the show’s next season—which was already renewed earlier this year—will be its last

This wasn’t the only decision Ryan has had to make as of late. Originally, the creator wanted to end the successful six-season show where it began, focusing on the relationship between his characters Rachel, played by Lea Michele, and Finn, who was played by Cory Monteith. However, due to Cory’s sudden death earlier this year, Ryan has had to rethink the ending he had in mind to conclude the series.

“I knew what the last shot was. He was in it,” Ryan said. “I knew what the last line was. She said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.”

However, Ryan says that he still has another idea in mind for the ending, one that will honor Finn as well as Cory.
