The First Look at Margot Robbie as Shannon Tate in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is Here

The sneak peeks of Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood continue. On Monday, Margot Robbie shared a photo of herself as Sharon Tate on Instagram.

Clad in ’60s attire with an era-inspired blowout, Robbie is almost unrecognizable as the late actress.

Tate was married to director Roman Polanski and pregnant when she was killed in her home by Charles Manson’s cult followers in 1969. The upcoming film takes place the same year, and though it follows a TV actor (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Brad Pitt) as they try to make it in Hollywood, Tate’s murder — and the entire Helter Skelter reign of terror — play a large role.

Tarantino wrote Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘s script, and he’s directing and producing the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project has been in the works for five years. “I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A. and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore,” Tarantino said. “And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio and Pitt as Rick and Cliff.”

Back in June, DiCaprio shared an Instagram photo of him and Pitt in their looks for the film.

Luke Perry, Dakota Fanning, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Al Pacino, and James Marsden are also set to star.

Prior to Robbie posting the photo on Instagram, Tate’s sister, Debra, tweeted her feelings about the film. “I’m grateful to Quentin for letting me read the script, and sitting down with me to explain his vision,” she wrote, adding that she has to “protect” her sister’s legacy and ensure her memory “is not exploited.”

“I’m proud to fully support his [Tarantino’s] film,” Debra tweeted

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set to be released July 26, 2019.
