Elizabeth Smart is getting married!
Smart, now 24, was kidnapped when she was 14 in 2002 and held for nine months before escaping. “I’m so excited,” Smart told ABC News exclusively. “We are looking forward to a bright future together.”
The name of Smart’s fiance is being kept underwraps, a detail that Smart insisted upon. Her father Ed Smart says she “wants to keep it very private and feels very strongly about that right now.”
Smart currently works as a paid contributor for Good Morning America on issues relating to missing or exploited children, and is also a student at Brigham Young University.
