Chrissy Teigen Gave The Best Response To Why She Didn’t Take John Legend’s Last Name

Chrissy Teigen is the queen of jokes, clap-backs and relatable comments, and in response to one tweet about women taking their husband’s last names, she delivered once again.

I don’t know how Chrissy finds these tweets, but I’m guessing it involves a lot of random Twitter scouring. This one actually went viral, but that was back in 2017, so she must’ve gone on a pretty deep Twitter dive. The Twitter user said “I’d really like to hear the reasoning behind women who don’t take their husband’s last name.”

Somehow Chrissy stumbled upon it today, and rather than give a long feminist rant, she responded with one simple quip: “My husband didn’t even take his last name?”

She’s referring to the fact that John Legend is a stage name, and her husband’s real name is actually John Stephens—not as cool, eh? Without overanalyzing this little exchange, Chrissy’s tweet slyly gets at how picking a last name can be so arbitrary, so why should women have to choose their husband’s? Further more, why does this Twitter user even care? Back in 2017, the tweet illicit plenty of answers.

In true Chrissy fashion, she followed up with a valid explanation and pretty much asked the same question I did: why should someone gaf about someone else’s choice?

As always, Chrissy is funny af and articulate af. *Snaps*
