Peaches Geldof, a British writer, model and TV personality, died Monday under unexplained circumstances. She was 25 years old.
On Monday afternoon, police were called to an address near Wrotham, Kent, due to “a report of concern for the welfare of a woman,” according to BBC News. Geldof was then pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
According to a statement from Kent Police, the death is being treated as “unexplained and sudden.”
Geldof’s father, musician Bob Geldof, confirmed her death in a statement. “She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us,” he says. “Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?”
Geldof’s last tweet, which was posted Sunday, linked to an Instagram photo of her and her late mother, who died of a drug overdose in 2000. Geldof said in 2012 that she had been unable to cope with her mother’s death for several years. She was 11 years old when her mother died.
Geldof was married to musician Thomas Cohen and had two young sons, Astala and Phaedra.
Cohen says in a statement, “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra, and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day. We shall love her forever.”
