Ariana Grande Defended Justin Bieber’s Quick Engagement (And Her Own) Like A Pro

It seems the summer of love is in full swing after Justin Bieber proposed to Hailey Baldwin following their recent rekindled romance—and by recent, we mean a few weeks ago. This isn’t the only speedy engagement we’ve seen this summer, as Ariana Grande and her beau Pete Davidson just recently did the same. Though some of us may not understand the sudden rush to the altar, Ariana is here to explain it all, after a fan tweeted about the two couples and their choice to tie the knot so quickly.

On Sunday, a fan tweeted about Justin and Hailey’s engagement and tied it back to his manager Scooter Braun, who also happens to be Ariana’s manager. “First Ariana gets engaged to Pete Davidson and now Justin Bieber to Hailey Baldwin. The devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder.” So this fan thinks it’s all just a stunt? Not on Ari’s watch. The “No Tears Left To Cry” singer replied to the fan with a tweet that has since been deleted, defending not only herself, but Justin and Hailey too. “You do realize we are human beings who love and have lives… right? And that Scooter is a wonderful human being, too, who cares first and foremost [about] our health and happiness? Love is lit. Shit happens. I hope to god it happens to you too. You deserve it,” she wrote. Yes, girl!

The singer also added a defense of Scooter in another response to a fan, telling them to “be nice” after the fan made a joke. “Be nice to that man. He’s wonderful and very human. Always puts his artists’ health and happiness first.” Awww.

Whether or not you support the two couples and their engagements, you have to admit Ari is right. They are only humans and if they are in love, then let it happen. I wish the best for both Ari and Pete and Hailey and Justin. Maybe we will see some double dates in the near future?
