Amy Schumer Posts Nude Selfie to Promote Gun Violence Awareness

Many celebrities took to social media yesterday to promote National Gun Violence Awareness Day, but Amy Schumer is by far getting the most attention for her interesting method of advocacy. On Instagram, the comedian posted a picture of herself in nothing but an orange sports bra, encouraging her followers to join her in wearing orange in support of the important event.

“Today please #wearorange for gun safety! #everytown,” Schumer captioned the photo. In addition to this almost nude photo, she posted other pictures of herself and her friends wearing orange throughout the day. According to Everytown for Gun Safety, the organization behind #WearOrange, orange has become “the symbol of gun safety” in the United States.

Schumer has worked with Everytown before to advocate for gun control. On her show Inside Amy Schumer, she gave us a hilarious sketch about gun safety before interviewing the chief strategy officer of Everytown about the importance of gun violence awareness.

Kudos to Schumer for bringing attention to gun violence in this most interesting way.
