The newest facial treatment out there is a little slimy. The newest fad to hit the streets (or our faces) is the snail facial. According to its supporters the snail’s mucus contains hyaluronic acid, elastin, and other compounds that can reverse the damage caused by time.

Hyaluronic acid is actually what dermatologists inject to decrease lines. One dermatologist commented that it is not proven to be safe and while snails’ mucus does contain this compound, it is not proven that it will actually penetrate the skin and be effective. The verdict? This slimy treatment is a just another fad. You’re better off sticking with more traditional skin care methods. But, you can check out this crazy guy getting a snail facial below!
