In less than a month husbands will take their wives to nice dinners, boyfriends will buy flowers for their girlfriends, and all us single ladies will be catching the premiere of 50 Shades of Grey. No matter what you have planned, why not give yourself a cute, ombré Valentine’s Day manicure to celebrate being unbelievably in love or happily single? (Even if you just sit at home for the night, you can stare at your gorgeous nails while eating a delicious box of chocolates.)

For this manicure I used China Glaze Something Sweet ($5.01), Revlon Pink Chiffon ($3.75), Maybelline Color Show Pink Bikini ($4.53), Revlon Cherries in the Snow ($3.99), Revlon Revlon Red ($3.99), and Butter London Matte Finish Topcoat ($19).

Starting with your pinky, paint each nail a different color beginning with the lightest polish and ending with the darkest. This will create a cool ombré effect across your hand.

If you don’t have five different pink and red polishes that work, simply mix polishes to create your own colors! My ring finger was too light so I added some of the Pink Bikini to the Pink Chiffon. I also added Pink Bikini to Cherries in the Snow so my pointer finger wouldn’t be as dark.

Use the matte topcoat on each nail to finish it off. You can see the matte effect versus the shiny polish below.

Lastly, using Revlon Red, draw a heart on your ring finger with a toothpick.

And your adorable Valentine’s Day mani is complete!

Where will you be showing off your nail art this Valentine’s Day, collegiettes?
