With her long, golden hair, Gigi Hadid is practically the Rapunzel of the model world—until now. In a new ad campaign for Stuart Weitzman revealed Wednesday morning, Gigi’s hair is ultra short and ultra chic.
Snipping long locks in favor of a pixie style has been popular in Hollywood lately, with stars such as Scarlett Johannson and Katy Perry embracing the gamine cut, but it looks like Gigi isn’t joining their ranks quite yet. Just like she faked us out on April Fool’s Day with her haircut Instagram prank, this pixie cut isn’t real either. According to WWD, Gigi didn’t go wild with the scissors—she just slipped on a wig. In a press release from Stuart Weitzman, they explained that the dramatic new look was inspired by 60’s movie star Jean Seberg, known best for starring in the dreamy French New Wave movie Breathless.
Even if it’s temporary, Gigi’s new look perfectly captures that Old Hollywood elegance. Maybe it’s the black and white of the photo giving her that pariesenne aesthetic, but it looks like we may have found our generation’s Audrey Hepburn.
