College Beauty Awards: The Best Body Care Products

The Her Campus National Editors write about products we love and think you’ll love too. Her Campus has affiliate partnerships, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase. All products are in stock and all prices are accurate as of publication.

Skincare for your face is a no-brainer, but it’s not something that should stop once you reach the end of your neck. Afterall, skin is an organ, which means it needs water (ideally via a hydrating moisturizer) and to be cleaned regularly below the chin. Investing in oils, masks, scrubs, razors, deodorants and all those body care treatments is totally worth it — and so is learning how to use them to their full effect.

If you don’t like to tan or shave or get sudsy in the tub, no worries! Just focus on our recommendations that align with your lifestyle. But if it’s a product that goes below the neckline, you can bet we’ve found the top performers and listed them here for you to swoon over. We’ve got your limbs covered, just head right this way…

Coconut Deo

Kopari Beauty, koparibeauty.com, $14; shop now

Converting to non-toxic deodorant was one of our 2019 priorities. We don’t like chemicals, but we do like coconut, so Kopari was kind of the perfect fit. It’s slick, fresh-smelling, and way better for our bodies.

Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Lotion

Jergens, walmart.com, $8; shop now

You gotta love a classic! This body lotion is consistently nourishing, so it finishes in top place. Even if you’ve been using it for years, it seems to get better every time.

Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter

Josie Maran, sephora.com, $36; shop now

When you’re in the mood to treat yourself, pick up a pot of this, slather it on, and wait for the bliss. The milky vanilla scent smells like ice cream when you wear it throughout the day. Besides the tasty aroma, it’s also ulta-hydrating.

Wild Rose Body Oil

Native Nectar Botanicals, nativenectarbotanicals.com, $42; shop now

This indie body oil was a suprising find, but it’s now a permanent fixture on our vanities. It put every other body oil we tested to shame for multiple reasons: the musky rose scent, soothing properties, quick absorbtion, and natural glow effect. It also helps refine bumpy skin on your arms, so this is kind of magic.

Original Coffee Scrub

Frank Body, frankybody.com, $17; shop now

Have fun getting messy in your shower with coffee-based body scrub, a fan favorite of ours for years. If you’ve got bumps, scars and rogue marks, this scrub is great for improving texture and making your skin brighter.

The Body Wash

Nécessaire, necessaire.com, $25; shop now

You’ve likely seen Nécessaire body products seeding all over social media, as this brand is currently beloved by influencers. But let us tell you that this body wash has the best lather we’ve ever experienced while showering — on top of being incredibly gentle and accessible for even the most senstive skin types.

Joy Razor

Joy, walmart.com, $9; shop now

Becoming a person that loves to shave because this Joy razor is legitimately that good, what about you? Obviously, this is a great price point for a whole razor pack, and the product itself has one of the sturdiest grips we’ve felt. Not to mention that Joy’s refreshingly playful messaging low-key makes shaving fun again.

Skin Therapy Dry Skin Shave Gel

Skintimate, walmart.com, $6; shop now

Nobody likes nicks and cuts, and luckily, we don’t even have to go there because this trusty shave gel has had our backs for like, years. It gives a close shave and lessens the skin irritation that usually comes with shaving.

Aloe & Lanolin Hair Removal Lotion

Nair, walmart.com, $5; shop now

If shaving isn’t your thing and you’re curious about other hair removal alternatives, this lotion from Nair is honestly a great substitute. It takes way less time than shaving and the results last longer, because you’re literally just applying lotion and then removing it. Can it get any easier?

Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes

L’Oreal Paris, target.com, $9; shop now

We love to celebrate the things that come easy, and an effortless glow is one of them. These towelettes are so dorm-friendly because you don’t need to spray down your body with a mist to get the bronze shade you’re dreaming of. Just use one of these single-use wipes and it’ll feel like summer all over again.
