Amy Schumer Thanks Her Longtime Makeup Artist & Friend for Giving Her Confidence

Actress Amy Schumer and MUA Kyra Panchenko go way back. From two seasons of Inside Amy Schumer to the comedian’s debut movie, Trainwreck, and her latest, Snatched, Panchenko and Schumer have been through a lot.

Before honoring Kyra with an award at the 18th annual Designing Women Awards, Amy shared the impact that her makeup artist has had on her life. “The truth is Kyra changed how I feel about myself,” Amy said. “Going to shoot Trainwreck, I had never been in a movie before. Playing the romantic lead that the guy is supposed to fall in love with, I didn’t know if I had a place there and if I had a right to be playing this woman.

Schumer credited Panchenko with making her feek beautiful and helping her let go of her doubts. “Kyra, she really had my back,” Amy said. “Her words and her actions made me not only feel confident, but I felt really beautiful in that movie, and I still looked like myself.” In true Amy fashion, she concluded, “I love you, bitch! You know I love you.”

This is so sweet and so relatable—you can always count on a good friend to make you feel confident… not to mention a bit of makeup!
