Maile Raff is a new writer at Her Campus Colgate, but has been writing for different forums since she was in middle school. Her topics of interest include(but are not limited to) politics and social justice, wellness, and media criticism.
Maile is currently a sophomore at Colgate University, where she double majors in Political Science and English (with an emphasis in creative writing). This summer, she was a legal intern at a boutique litigation firm called Esbrook P.C., based out of Chicago. In that position, she gained exposure to the legal setting through writing and editing documents like memos and discovery shells; sitting in on expert calls, depositions, and hearings; and doing legal research via WestLaw Precision.
Around Colgate's campus, she is involved in student government (where she sits on the Board of Directors), Democracy Matters, theatre, dance, Friends First, a cappella (she LOVES her 'Gates, for whom she acts as publicity chair, reunion chair, album coordinator, and social chair), Habitat for Humanity (where she is also on the board), and Lambda, one of three student-led queer affinities, which she is president of. In her free time, Maile loves to sing and play music, go on long walks, bake, and yap with her friends about any and everything. She is also an avid reader and writer of various forms and genres of fiction.
