“DON'T BE AFRAID TO STEP OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE.”

-- Words of Wisdom I learned from Sheldon, The Big Bang Theory

I currently am double majoring in Economics and Mathematics. I studied the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Wuxi No.1 High School, China before I came to the states.

After class, I am a big fan of THE BIG BANG THEORY! Sheldon Cooper is my absolute favorable character among all and a role model. His passion to physics and mathematics kind of sparks my interest.

I have learned so much from him. One take away from me is that don’t be hesitated to step outside of your comfort zone. Granted, when your comfort zone is as clearly marked as Sheldon's, almost everything feels like a step beyond. Still, Sheldon has been willing to put aside his own fears to rally around the ones he cares about most.

I used to consider myself a shy girl before college. However, I was willing to give a try to step outside of my comfort zone. Thus, I joined a lot of organizations and activities and people see me everywhere. On campus, I am a mathematics tutor, international student ambassador, assistant promotions director for the Radio Show Station, website editor at The DePauw Newspaper, and an active member in Economics and Business.

Besides, I also am interested in the United Nations and International Relations! I have participated in the Model United Nations (MUN) Activities for over three years. Last semester, I was the delegation of Monaco at American Model United Nations Conferences (AMUN) at downtown Chicago. After class, I enjoy making friends and getting to know different people. I like playing board games during my free time and also, I am an “OK” PING-PONG player.
