5 Popular Types Of Sandals College Students Love To Wear (American ‘13)

In 2016, about 21% of public schools in the United States required a uniform to go to their school

However, most colleges don't require a uniform which means that you have the freedom to choose your own style.

This can leave you wondering what you should even wear to your classes. Your footwear may be one of the most important pieces of your outfit.

Wearing sandals is something many college students do. However, find out the most popular types of sandals they are wearing here.

1. Dad Sandals

Dad bod is in, and so are dad sandals.

While some people may not think that these shoes are attractive, these are actually the shoes that are most in style right now. They are also super comfortable sandals to wear and can match with just about any outfit.

Some of them are even so comfortable that you can go on short hikes with them.

These shoes will give you the arch support that your feet are begging for and will help you avoid getting blisters as well. These shoes also last for years, so you won't have to be buying new ones every few months.

These shoes aren't going to be out of style any time soon, so you can rest assured that you will really get your money's worth.

An example of these types of "dad shoes" are Birkenstocks. These are officially in style, so you won't be the only girl on campus wearing these. Birkenstocks became more popular, and other knock-off brands have popped up.

You may even be able to find some of these knock-off brands at your local Target.

Birkenstocks are more expensive, but they are of better quality and will last longer. They come in all kinds of colors so you can mix and match with your favorite outfits.

You can wear these with leggings, ripped jeans, or even shorts. You could even wear these with Bohemian style outfits, like a crop top paired with flowy pants.

2. Athletic Sandals

Athletic slides are also in style right now.

Like the "dad sandals," these are also a casual type of shoe. Some good examples of these might be the Nike and Addidas slides that you've probably seen your fellow classmates wear.

However, these athletic slides are also becoming a fashion item. They have been seen on the runway sporting brands like Gucci and Zara.

These shoes are comfortable if you are heading back from soccer or swim practice, but they can also be shoes to wear to your 8 a.m. classes.

These are also great shoes that you can wear through the halls of the dorms when you don't feel like dressing up.

3. A Good Pair of Flip Flops

While they may not be as fashionable as they once were, you should still have a good pair of flip flops in your closet. They can be compared to the classic jeans, button-downs, or a good white T-shirt.

People have been wearing flip flops since about 4000 BC, and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

While the foam flip flops from Old Navy may not be in style anymore, you can still find some cute, comfortable ones that you can wear with your college outfits.

These can look great and they will last a long time. One good pair of flip flops is TKEES Lily Suedes.

These shoes look like standard flip flops, but they are actually a suede material instead of rubber. These can pair well with any jeans or other skirts or cute, summer dresses.

4. Everyday Flat Sandals

You will also need a pair of strappy, flat sandals.

Some of them are even cute and professional enough that you could wear them to your college internship. You can also wear them for a cute date or some of your classes.

These sandals normally have a strap that goes around the top of your foot and possibly even your ankle.

There are even some sandals that will lace up and tie around your ankle.

It doesn't matter what outfit you wear; you will be able to wear these sandals with them.

5. Shower Shoes

Lastly, you will also need some shower sandals. You don't want to wear any of your expensive Gucci or Birkenstock sandals in the shower and get them soaked with soap and shampoo.

This is where your cheap pair of shower shoes come in handy.

If you live in the dorm, these are a must. You will most likely be sharing a shower, and it's not the most sanitary place in the room. If you want to make sure that you don't contract any gross diseases, you can buy a pair of shoes to protect your feet.

If you have an old, ugly pair of sandals, you can use these to wear in the shower. The foam ones are normally the best.

Old Navy sometimes has great foam sandals that you can buy for only a few dollars. You may want to make sure that you have a few extra pairs just in case something happens to one pair.

You don't want to find yourself not being able to take a shower because you don't have your shower shoes!

The best part of these shoes is that they don't have to be fashionable.

Buy One of These Types of Sandals Today!

These types of sandals will help you complete all of your outfits for college.

Your outfit can help give people the first impression of you, so you want to make sure that you're confident in your style.
