This Sexy Border Patrol Halloween Costume Is the Opposite of Okay

In light of DACA being repealed, President Donald Trump’s nasty comments about people from foreign countries AND rampant insensitivity towards undocumented people, this store thought a ~relatable~ Halloween costume was appropriate.

Spirit Halloween has a new “Border Patrol Agent” and “Border Babe” costume — and they know exactly what it’s hinting at. According to the Gothamist, stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn put green and gold border patrol costumes on display right next to masks with the president’s face on it. The Border Babe costume was only available online and is currently sold out. Gothamist reporters even saw people taking pictures with the display and laughing.

While occupational costumes are very popular, Spirit Halloween took advantage of a conversation that is extremely sensitive for immigrant families. They are essentially enabling those who believe that stereotyping immigrants (like President Trump has) is okay.

“Building the wall is certainly a trending conversation in today’s political climate. We believe this costume carries similar sentiments akin to that of a police officer, military costumes, firefighter, doctor and more,” Spirit Halloween told the Gothamist. “We have costumes for everyone to join in on the fun… We’ve respectfully developed these costumes knowing that Halloween is a time for humor and fun.”

Sorry, Spirit Halloween, but there’s nothing really humorous about this one.
