People Are Pissed At Kim Kardashian Because Of North West’s Latest Outfit

Kim Kardashian and North West are known as one of Hollywood’s best-dressed mother-daughter duos, but it seems like North’s recent style has landed her mom in hot water—and Kim is having none of it. 

The five-year-old was spotted in NYC wearing a silky orange dress with what looked like an embroidered corset. Twitter was up in arms over the paparazzi shots, and Life & Style Magazine even claimed Kim Kardashian had designed the garment herself. (She did not.) This didn’t stop anyone from criticizing North’s outfit though.

Kim fired back at the haters with a tweet of her own. 

“I would never put my daughter in a corset!” Kim wrote, attaching a video to show how the “corset” was just a piece of cloth sewn to the front of the dress. “It’s a dress I bought that is a cotton fabric that laces up & looks like a corset! Just decoration.”

Historically, corsets have been used to help women try to attain a specific waist size or body shape, even to the detriment of their health. (Remember Elizabeth Swann fainting because of hers in Pirates of the Carribean?) However, the style is now one of 2017’s hottest trends, and honestly the faux-corset of North’s dress is clearly loose and comfortable.

Some on social media pointed this out with the tweet equivalent of an eyeroll.
