Lululemon Customer Claps Back at Body-Shaming Employees

Unfortunately, the world is way too familiar with body-shaming and judgmental retail employees. One woman, Heather Albert, went into a Lululemon store while on a business trip in Park City, Utah, to pick up some workout gear. According to Refinery29, these new workout clothes were her way of celebrating after shedding 80 pounds.

As she was browsing, Albert overheard two employees say, “Do we even have anything her size?” and laughing. She knew they were talking about her, since she was the only customer. That’s when she made the decision to share the incident with the world via the store’s Facebook page.

This is honestly so gross, but I’m glad people like Albert are brave enough to speak out. Lululemon promptly responded to her complaint, assuring her that this incident violates its principles. The company also published a statement in The Daily Mailclaiming that they “welcome everyone in our community into our stores and love to celebrate the creation and completion of health and fitness goals — regardless of shape or size.” All I can say is: do better.
