Instagram is Making it Easier Than Ever to Keep Up With Fashion Week

If you’re a die-hard fashionista who wasn’t lucky enough to score a coveted seat under the tents at NYFW, you know how completely essential social media and live streams are when it comes to keeping up with everything happening at the Skylight at Moynihan Station this season. Fortunately, doing the whole NYFW-from-the comfort-of-your-dorm thing just got even easier thanks to Instagram!

This season, every fashion girl’s fave social media platform is kicking its fashion week coverage up a notch—as of Friday, Instagram’s “Explore” page features a new section called “The Best of Fashion Week Updated Daily by @Instagram,” where fashion fans can see a curated feed of the best #NYFW posts. The feed won’t necessarily only feature the most liked posts from the most followed users either—Instagram’s team, which already works to curate and sort the best ’grams, is also choosing which posts to feature from fashion week. Consider it your own backstage pass to the best shows, parties and street style, all on your phone!

Fashion month is a huge Instagram traffic driver, with WWD reporting that it counted over 140 million likes and comments on posts during fashion month this past February and March—so it makes sense it’s the first event Instagram has devoted an entire week-long section to.

The only downside? Unfortunately, Instagram will only be keeping “Best of Fashion Week,” around for NYFW, and won’t be covering London, Milan or Paris—just yet! But we’re hoping coverage of fashion’s month-long extravaganza will happen in the future!

How will you be keeping up with fashion week this season, collegiettes?
